Zoom Headset/Mic Settings

No sound coming from your headset in Zoom? No one can hear you in Zoom?
Take a look at these settings in Zoom to make sure your sound and voice are going to the proper device!

These settings may change frequently if you are moving your computer around, such as from desk to WFH or to training in a different room.

1. Tap your Zoom Profile Icon in the top right.
2. Click in "settings" and a pop up window will come up with the settings.

3. Click on "Audio" on the left side of the pop out window.
4. Click the drop down under Speaker (Your headset/audio output option) and select the device to use. Or Mic to set the device to use as your microphone. Click the "Test" button beside each option to verify the correct device you want to use is selected.

Here you can see I have many options for the Speaker. I typically use a headset so I need to make sure that is the correct one set.
-Headphnes (PLT Focus)                                        - The bluetooth headset I use
-Same As System (Headphones (PLT Focus))       - Default source you or Windows chooses in the Windows settings.
-Speakers (UGA-2kHDMI Audio)                          - This is my monitor, some monitors have the option to use audio.
-Speakers (Realtek(R) Audio                                   - For most this will be your laptops speaker. It may be the default source unless you've changed it. It may be (Intel Smart Sound Technology for some.

5. You can choose to have more than one device to ring when called. Since I use a headset that is on a stand I want my laptop to also ring so I can hear when someone calls.
-Check the checkbox for "Use separate audio device to play ringtone simultaneously". Then select the source you want it to play out of.

You should now have an understanding of which source to choose for your computer, hopefully this helps! If you have any issues please feel free to reach out to helpdesk@crossco.com for further assistance.
