Sheets: Download Google Sheet as Excel File

Another great feature Google Sheets offers is the ability to download a Google Sheet as an Excel, or .xlsx file. 

Why would we do this? 
We all know that some of our customers don’t accept Google Sheet files and require Excel files so let's walk through how to do this.

First, Let's open up the spreadsheet you need to send off to a customer or vendor.
  1. Let’s click on “File”
  2. Hover over “Download”
  3. Select “Microsoft Excel (.xlsx)”


Now you have an Excel spreadsheet that you can send off to the person that requires an Excel file!
