Signing into Microsoft Office/PowerBI for the first time

Please read all of the instructions before attempting for smoothest results

How to sign into Office/PowerBI for the first time:

Since you are receiving this article, we've already created your Microsoft account.

- If you are tying to sign into Office, we should have already installed the Office 365 Apps onto your device. Please open any Office app (Excel, Word or Powerpoint) and sign in. 

- If you are trying to sign into PowerBI, go to https://app.powerbi.com/ and sign in.


Both methods to sign in will also prompt you to change your password from the one I assigned you.

They will prompt you to set up a Verification method. As shown below. Press "next" here.
 

Do not download or use Microsoft Authenticator. INSTEAD: Choose "I want to use a different authenticator" (as shown below)


Press next, and scan the QR code with Okta verify, which you should already be using, on your phone.

To do this, open Okta Verify on your phone. Press the "+" button at the top right. Click "Other" for the organization type. If it prompts you to "add account from another device", please skip that step. Now, click "Scan QR code".

This should complete the sign in process, if you have any questions or concerns please reach back out to the Helpdesk.
